"And the fire upon the altar shall be kept burning on it: it shall not be allowed to go out. The priest shall burn wood on it every morning and lay the burnt offering in order upon it and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. The fire shall be burning continually upon the altar; it shall not go out”
Leviticus 6: 12-13
In 2016, God birthed a ministry of prayer out of my experience in Atlanta, GA. This ministry is known as Flames On The Altar (F.O.T.A.) and it is focused on equipping and training churches and ministry leaders on how to plan and coordinate 24 hour prayer gatherings. I long to see Jesus high and lifted up, and I believe in the power of prayer. Our God delights in answering the prayers of His children, and bringing about His Kingdom on earth. I believe that Christians have a responsibility to mankind to intercede, or stand in the gap for the lost by praying for their salvation.
The term “intercession” is defined in some Christian circles as standing in the gap on behalf of an individual, group, or land to reconcile them back to God. Ezekiel 22:30 New International Version (NIV) “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.
Miriam-Webster defines “intercession” as
1 : The act of interceding
2 : Prayer, petition, or entreaty of another
and “interceding” is defined as
1 : To intervene between parties with a view to reconciling differences
According to 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, Christians have been given the ministry of reconciliation and one way that we can utilize this responsibility is by praying on the behalf of others especially for those who do not know Christ and are dead in their sins. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 New International Version (NIV) All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. God doesn’t take pleasure in the wicked dying in their sins, but He desires for them to repent and to come to him so that they can live. Ezekiel 18:23 New International Version (NIV) Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? Declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
Our nation is in need of a move of God, and it is happening. Get on board, prepare your youth for a lifestyle of prayer and fasting, provoke your church to pray fervently for the lost because the day of salvation is now. If you are just as hungry as I am for God to move in your church, youth group, and city, please contact me and I would love to partner with you to destroy the Gates of Hell and to see God glorified.
